On your arrival at Manali, you will get a warm welcome from Crazy Riders Adventure Tours representative at Hotel premises. Our representative will hand over all your tour related documents and will give you a brief about the tour. Spend a relaxed day in the hotel. This day allows you to enjoy Manali, which in itself has lot to offer. The entire day is at your own disposal and you may plan to visit Solang Valley where one can enjoy paragliding, visit Hadimba temple, Vashisht village where you may take dips at hot water spring, Mall Road. Remember to wrap up any last minute shopping and come back to hotel by evening. From here we gear up for an early morning adventurous ride through Pir Panjal range of The Great Himalayas for Sarchu.

Manali to Sarchu

Take a nice breakfast as this day calls for crossing the Atal Tunnel, as you move towards Sarchu from Manali along Chandra and Bhaga Rivers. Crossing the Atal Tunnel is an experience in itself as this tunnel is the world's highest altitude modern tunnel. Night halt at Sarchu camps.

Sarchu to Leh

After an early breakfast, we leave for the most exciting leg of our onward journey towards Leh. You will cross Gata Loops, the 21 hair pin bends and will get the chance to ride on all types of road i.e tarmac, stony, quick and unbelievable U turns. You will actually get to know as to why this road is often called by many as the “Highway to Hell”. We break for lunch at Pang and then drive on towards Leh, passing through Skyangchu Thang (a vast plateau stretching for 42 kms) and then crossing Tanglang-La (17,585ft) and driving through the upper Indus Valley. Reach Leh by evening. Check in and relax overnite in Leh.

Rest day in Leh for Acclimatization

On the fourth day of this tour, you can enjoy Leh as a place. After a hearty breakfast, set out for local sightseeing, exploring Leh and the neighboring attractions, visiting Shanti Stupa, Jama Masjid, Leh Palace, Polo Grounds, and the War Museum to name a few. In the later part of the day, check and gear up the bikes as necessary and get ready for the adventure that is to follow the next day.

Leh to Nubra via Khardung La

Gear up and speed off on the smooth tarmac to meet the board showing “The Highest Motorable Road in the world” at Khardung La Pass. After taking a break for photo session on this high pass to the Nubra Valley, we head towards Khardung village where you can have a quick break for tea and snacks. We proceed towards Nubra Valley as we cross the Khalsar and Diskit sectors. Nubra valley is a high altitude cold desert which mesmerizes every traveler with its unsurpassed naked beauty. This is probably the only place in Ladakh which gives a glimpse of snow clad mountains encompassing green pastures. The valley is comfortably located in the Karakoram range, and gives a feel of cold desert magical sand dunes, constantly changing shape and place. You have get to ride on double humped camels at the Nubra Valley. Overnight stay at camp.

Day Ride to Turtuk Village from Nubra Valley

For those seeking more unique experiences, a visit to Turtuk village, the last Indian village open for tourists and adventure seekers, is a must. Turtuk offers a glimpse into the local way of life, culture, and traditions, providing a memorable cultural encounter. This day gives you an opportunity to visit Turtuk Village, the last Indian village before the border line with Pakistan. Ride with us on the smooth road towards this exciting place. Being part of the Baltistan region in the northernmost part of the Himalayas, Turtuk is one of the last village on the indian side of LOC, being part of 5 small villages of the Baltistan region to fall in the Indian Territory. This small village, native to the Balti people, is very popular for the fruits grown in this region, especially Apricots. Staying in home stays and small guest houses, allows tourists to witness the Balti culture. Return to Nubra Valley camp sites by evening and prepare for the next day ride.

Nubra to Pangong via Shyok Route

This road trip, on the 7th day of your tour, offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the diverse landscapes of Ladakh, from the lush Nubra Valley to the stunning high-altitude Pangong Lake. Ensure that your vehicle is well-maintained, and you are prepared for the challenging yet rewarding journey. Taking a left from Durbuk and crossing Tangtse gives you the first glimpse of Pangong Tso and the magical beauty of the world's highest salt water lake and its constantly changing colour. This gives us an additional opportunity to ride/drive as real off roading and experience water crossing. After spending a good time in the afternoon on the lake side, get into your camps as evenings generally get chilly. Stay the night at lake side camps.

Pangong to Leh via Chang La

After spending an unforgettable night on the bank of Pangong TSO, post breakfast head towards Leh. Enroute we will cross the Changla Pass ( 3rd highest motorable pass), have a quick break at Karu for refreshment. Enroute visit Shey and Thikshey monastries and get yourself clicked at the Rancho school, before reaching the comfort of your beds in Leh hotel. Overnight stay in your hotel at Leh.

Leh to Kargil

The road from Leh to Kargil resembles a runway and constitutes the first part of the day’s journey. You can feel the magic of magnetic hill, pray at Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. We then visit the Lamayuru monastary, which is the highest monastery in Ladakh and then, cross the Fotu La, which is the highest pass on the Leh - Srinagar road, and descend down to stop at Kargil. The entire population in Ladakh is Buddhist while the entire population in Kargil is Islamic, and thus, the journey from Ladakh to Kargil is symbolic in its own way, signifying a transformation, as you traverse from one world to another.

Kargil to Srinagar

Begin riding and cross Drass - the second coldest inhabited place on earth after Siberia (Russia) and visit the Drass war museum to pay respects and pray for the peace of the brave souls of the valiant jawans who fought and sacrificed their lives during the Kargil war of 1999. Pave way to reach the majestic Tiger hill and salute the brave Indian Army and the national flag - ‘Tiranga’ and yet again, feel the pride of being an Indian. Ride to cross Zoji La and descend down to Sonmarg while leaving behind the arid, dry and vegetation - less yet picturesque Ladakh to be greeted by the starkly contrasting greenery of Sonmarg, one of the most beautiful parts of the “Heaven on Earth - Kashmir”. Visit the Dal Lake for a shikara ride, the Mughal Gardens, the Shankracharya Temple and other tourist attractions on reaching Srinagar. Overnite halt at Srinagar.

Depart for Home

After breakfast it’s time for both of us to say good bye and your memorable dream tour concludes here. Our vehicle will drop you at the airport as per your flight timings. Carry sweet unforgettable memories of Ladakh to cherish throughout life

F.A.Q

What is the best time for Leh Ladakh Bike Trip?

The best time to accomplish a bike trip to Leh Ladakh is from June to September. These so because, both the routes, i.e. Srinagar via Kargil and Manali via Rohtang Pass are open during these months, owing to less snow and clear weather

Which bike should I opt for Leh Ladakh Bike Trip?

Royal Enfield is the best or the most popular bike for taking up road trip to Leh Ladakh. However, any other 150cc+ is also enough for Leh Ladakh bike tour.

If we rent out the bike from you, do we have any option in selecting the bikes?

Yes. Besides Royal Enfield, you have other options available such as Bajaj Avenger, Bajaj Pulsar 150cc, and Yamaha FZ. We can also provide you Harley Davidson bike on additional cost. However, the availability of the bike and cost of renting it, is entirely depended upon the demand for a particular make. Hence, we welcome the idea of riding your own bike, if you have a suitable one

What is the condition of bikes we rent out from you?

While we keep adding new bikes to our fleet every year, you will find that all our bikes are handed over to the riders in well serviced, perfect conditions, so as to prevent hassles during the trip.

Do you provide any backup vehicle which will carry our luggage and petrol?

Yes, a backup vehicle is always provided by us with road trips to Leh Ladakh. As the name suggests, this is a backup vehicle for breakdowns and emergency situations. Ladakh bikers are always recommended to get Ladakh Carrier installed on your bike to carry the luggage, which should be packed light with absolutely necessary and limited stuff. Please follow our list of required stuff for this trip which is generally shared after the booking is confirmed.

Will there be bike mechanic and medical support team during this trip?

Yes, we have facility of a bike mechanic which accompanies you throughout the trip. Also, out tour leaders are well trained on handling medical emergencies, should such an unfortunate event occur during the tour.

I have my own Royal Enfield bike but I am not yet sure whether to bring my bike or rent out one from you. So can I book for the tour now without bike and then pay for bike just before the trip, if needed?

It’s indeed a good thing that you have your own suitable bike for the trip. Since, you are equipped on riding it and understand it better than us, this is always the best option. However, under sceptical situations of not riding on your own bike, you can rent it out from us at the very last moment also. However, this last minute booking comes with its own disadvantages. Priority will always be given to clients who have pre-booked the bike with us. Also, in renting out bikes, you get fewer options to choose from and you may not be entirely comfortable riding it as compared to your own bike. Also, depending upon the demand for the bikes, charges may hike. So, as the best option, ride your own bike or else pre-book with us for renting it out. However, if that is not entirely possible, you can rent it out at the very last moment also.

Can 2 people ride on a bike? Is a pillion rider allowed? If yes, then what are the charges?

Yes, pillion riders are allowed on bike tours to Leh Ladakh. It entirely depends upon the capacity of your bike. We at Crazy Riders Adventure Tours do not have a separate policy for individual or pillion rider. The charges quoted are per person cost, and, hence the pillion rider is also considered as an individual, and charges are applicable as per person cost.

If Pillion rider is allowed, will it not be difficult to carry two peoples’ luggage on a single bike?

While embarking on the bike tour to Leh Ladakh, Ladakh carrier is a must to be installed on your bike.  This is provided if you rent a bike from us, and, if you are taking the tour on your bike, then, it is recommended to get it installed. Also, for a bike tour to Leh Ladakh, always pack light so that luggage doesn’t become a problem. Still if you encounter difficulties accommodating your luggage on the bike, we can always help you out by accommodating it in the back up vehicle, which is at your service throughout the tour.

My vehicle is registered outside of J&K or Leh Ladakh. So, do I need any special permission for riding or driving in my vehicle during this trip?

No, you do not need any special permission to take the road trip to Leh Ladakh with your own vehicle, as long as the vehicle is registered on your name and you are carrying original Registration Certificate, PUC and insurance documents with you. Please note that soft copies of these documents may not be acceptable at certain places.

Yes, the first and the last day of the trip plans to cover 500 km from New Delhi to Manali and from Pathankot to Delhi respectively on smooth tarmac national highway. This distance need to be covered on individual bikes or cars, and, so that we do not face any troubles travelling this distance, we start early from Delhi and make it a point to reach Manali by 6 – 7 p.m. The remaining days of the trip, asks you to ride for only 150 km – 200 km, per day.

Yes. The tour cost is inclusive of all breakfasts & dinners for the entire length of the tour package.

Being on such heights, can we face lack of oxygen or any such related medical condition?

Generally, with an increase in altitude, level of atmospheric oxygen starts to dip. This becomes highly evident at altitudes of places such as Leh Ladakh. You may face challenges with normal breathing or a medical condition termed as Altitude Sickness or Acute Mountain Sickness. We do keep oxygen cylinders with us for severe conditions that may arise occasionally. But, it is pretty easy to tackle this situation. Follow some basic rules like:

1.   Drink lots and lots of water mixed with glucose.

2.   Take everything slow. Even little labour at high altitudes will leave you spent.

3.   Take one tablet of Diamox at Manali on the morning before leaving for Leh. Diamox takes one hour to start working on your body.

4.    Don’t push too hard, take the trip slow. Ascent slowly, decent slowly.

5.    If you feel the symptoms creeping up, stop and take some rest. Don’t keep pushing.

6.   Always follow the instructions of your tour leader as they are accustomed to handling such situations.

What will be the minimum and maximum size of each batch?

We generally follow a policy of taking minimum 25 and maximum 40 pax.
